Dr. Debra Abramson D.P.T. is a physical therapist with over 12 years of experience. Her academic resume includes graduating Summa Cum Laude and later receiving her doctorate in physical therapy from Long Island University. She created Abramson Physical Therapy 8 years ago because she wanted the opportunity to share her unique treatment approach in an environment that promoted healing of the whole person. Her solid medical background and her holistic approach to treatment allows her to bridge the gap between Western and complimentary therapies.

Debra, as seen on Dr. Max Gomez Channel 4 News, has studied extensively with Myofascial Release founder John F. Barnes P.T. since 1993 and has assisted with him nationally since 1995. She also teaches her own Introduction to Myofascial Release and Muscle Energy seminars throughout the year. Debra has developed several hands-on seminars that truly help professionals to evaluate and treat your patients effectively and efficiently.

Professionally, she has also been very active in the creation of physical therapy policy both in New York State and nationally. She was a member of the New York Physical Therapy Association Board of Directors from 1997-2001, a representative to the New York State Delegate Assembly from 1995-2001, and represented New York State nationally as a delegate to the House of Delegates in 2000. Moreover, she has been active in the New York State legislative and membership committees and lobbied for legislation relevant to physical therapists both in New York State and Washington D.C..
